JURY MESSAGE
XIV International Competition for Exlibris. Gliwice-Cieszyn. 2024
of 8th November 2024
700 works by 250 artists from 32 countries entered the competition.
The jury composed of:
- prof. dr hab. KRZYSZTOF MAREK BĄK – graphic artist, Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Education at the University of Silesia, runs the Modern Bookplate Research Studio, artistic director of the Competition;
- dr hab. ŁUKASZ CYWICKI, prof. UR – graphic artist, Director of the Institute of Fine Arts of the University in Rzeszów;
- dr hab. MARIUSZ DAŃSKI, prof. URad – graphic artist, Faculty of Art, Casimir Pulaski Radom University;
- dr hab. KATARZYNA HANDZLIK, prof. UŚ – graphic artist, head of the Subject Art Studio at the Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Silesia, co-head of the Modern Bookplate Research Studio;
- EWA POKORSKA – Municipal Conservator of Monuments in Gliwice;
- BOGNA DOBRAKOWSKA – director of the Municipal Public Library in Gliwice.
Krzysztof Marek Bąk was chosen as the chairman of the jury.
By the decision of the jury:
- 236 works by 159 artists from 27 countries were qualified for the exhibition.
- The list of artists whose works have been qualified for the exhibition is attached as Appendix No. 1 (PDF, size 190 KB)
The prizes are awarded to:
MAIN PRIZES
- 1st prize – 500 Euro – CHOLEWA STANISŁAW, Poland (for Ex libris Tomasz Ochal)
- 2nd prize – 300 Euro – TAMAWAKE AKIMITSU, Japan (for Ex libris Krzysztof Marek Bąk)
- 3rd prize – 200 Euro – KITAYAMA SACHI, Japan (for Ex libris Sachi Kitayama)
AWARDS:
- AYDOĞDU BAHAR LÜTFIYE, Turkey (for Ex libris Onnik Karafilian)
- CALDERONE GIUSEPPE, Italy (for Ex libris Giuseppe Calderone)
- CARNERO JUAN SEBASTIÁN, Argentina (for Ex libris Municipal Public Library in Gliwice)
- CHOMA ALEKSANDRA, Poland (for Ex libris K.K. Katarzyna Kowalczuk)
- KONIUSZY ŁUKASZ, Poland (for Ex libris ŁKK Łukasz Kazimierz Koniuszy)
- LU YAN-HAO, Taiwan (for Ex libris Lu Hao)
- TIAN JINWEI, China (for Ex libris for Peace)
The jury also decided that the post-competition exhibition would take place in December 2024 in the exhibition hall of the Municipal Public Library in Gliwice at Kościuszko Street No. 17.
